More accurately three things did not go against us -- an interesting take!
More accurately three things did not go against us -- an interesting take! Natural England accepted my plea of 'force majeure' when changing the circumstances of my organic registration following the death of my then landlord; thus avoiding a fine of £000's .The widow of a lovely man whose land I rent in Chagford is determined not to sell, and will I please continue to graze my cattle there. Lastly the government has released our EU entitlements 5 months earlier than heretofore , and in the relevant financial year for the first time since Mrs. Beckett opted for the most convoluted scheme possible for the farmers of England .
At ground level the east wind has followed us down and was bitter this morning. Holding the horses to grass it was as cold as it has been this winter, including Broadway Market! I replaced the round-feeders into the lee of our high hedges, that I keep for this purpose, so as the cattle can feed out of the wind, but those in the barn have had a rude shock as it faces east. So too have some injudicious primroses that have made a premature appearance. The snowdrops we planted are undaunted and every year grow more.
Friday I was comprehensively computed. A three hour session in the morning up and down-loading copy and pictures and getting computers and printers compatible before a visit in the afternoon to the excellent design consultants 'allies' who have created a web-site for us -- at last! Watch this space!
